Hall aboard - Jonty elected 2024 ERUGC President

The 76th Annual General Meeting of The East Riding Union of Golf Clubs took place on Thursday 4th April at Beverley & East Riding Golf Club.

Jonty Hall of Hornsea Golf Club was elected 2024 ERUGC President and thanked outgoing President Mike Dawson of Filey GC for an excellent year in post as he was presented his blazer. Jonty has kindly agreed to continue as Treasurer during his year of office.

Dave Greenwood of Beverley & East Riding GC was elected as President Elect and will continue as the Union's Competition Secretary for the upcoming season.

Alan Hutchinson was introduced as the Deputy President Elect. In 2026 when he takes over from Dave, Alan will become the first ERUGC President from Cottingham Parks Golf Club.

Secretary John Illingworth gave a detailed and, at times, humerous report to the meeting centred around the championship winners and the success of the ERUGC Mens and Junior sides during 2023. He paid tribute to all those who give their time to the Union and gave special mention to Norman Broxham who has stepped down as Auditor after decades overseeing the all important numbers.
