Raybould wins Men's Matchplay on 37th hole

The East Riding Union of Golf Clubs’ Matchplay Championship final was played at the Ganton Golf Club on Sunday 15th September 2019. Conditions were cool with a northerly breeze when the match between East Riding veteran Alan Wright, defending Champion, of Hessle and East Riding’s in-form player Nick Raybould of Hornsea teed off.

Hull clinch narrow victory in Junior League Final

During the year five clubs have been competing in the Junior League culminating in the top three clubs progressing to the final at Ganton on Sunday 15th September. Those three clubs were Hull, Scarborough North Cliff & Cottingham Parks who replaced Brough, sadly they could not raise a team due to players with work commitments.

Hunn, Banks and Whittacker take Millennium crowns at Beverley

Well done to Martin Hunn (Hull), Glen Banks (Filey) and Nick Whittacker (Hessle) on winning their divisions with fantastic scores of 36, 41 and 40 points repsectively.

The Millennium Championships is open to all 24 member clubs in the Union, who run their qualifying events at various times during the year. Each club provides a qualifying player from each of the three divisions and they are invited to play the final at no extra cost to themselves.

2019 Yorkshire Inter District Union Six Man Team Championship Results

On a warm sunny day with only a breath of wind, The Oaks Golf Club, with its generous fairways and light rough, was at the mercy of some of the finest players in Yorkshire in the final event of the 2019 season. And so it proved with scores of 66 from Tom Pyman (York), 67 from Sam Bridges (Halifax, Huddersfield) and 68s from Jack Ward (Harrogate), Charlie Daughtry (Sheffield), Ben Rhodes (Bradford) and our own Nick Raybould. He would go on to add a 71 to his morning score for a five under total and third place behind Ward (69,68) and Daughtry (70,68) in the individual contest.
