Red Hot Pepper shines as semi finalists decided in Junior League

The four semi-finalists have finally been decided on a night when all but two of the teams could have topped their respective groups.

Cottingham Parks quite literally came out of the clouds to win Group A with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Cave Castle. On a night interupted by a half hour thunderstorm at all four games, wins for Cooper Beck, Noa Ayala and Tom Anderson guaranteed qualification for Cottingham. They had to wait until the Hainsworth result came in to know if they had secured the all important home draw for the semi finals.

Hainsworth were at Brough who finished the group phase in style with emphatic wins for the two Toms - Beetham and De Luca. Harry Mayoh's solitary win for Hainsworth confirmed their second place spot.

In Group B, two shutout wins for Hull and Skidby Lakes meant that the group standings remained very much 'as you were'. Hull's victory at Burstwick was set up by George Pepper (pictured above right), whose golf was as electric as the black storm clouds coming in from the West. George closed out his match 5&4 shortly after the rain delay, quickly followed by Callum Akester who accounted for Jaydn Bell 4&3. Harry Earl ensured Hull would top the group with a birdie at the 18th to seal his match.

Skidby Lakes had to settle for the runner up spot despite their own 6-0 win on the Westwood. They ended Beverley's hopes thanks to emphatic wins for Jack Burt, Louis Brookes and Elliot McLaughlin

Skidby will therefore meet neighbours Cottingham in one semi final, with Hull hosting Hainsworth in the other. Matches to be arranged during the summer holidays.
