Congratulations to Ganton's Charles Wright who is the 2025 Yorkshire U16’s Champion!
A quite brilliant performance in the heat at Doncaster Golf Club showing focus,desire, attitude and good decision making. Charles finished four shots clear of England International George Cooper with rounds of 72 and 69. Third place was a further five shots back!
I’m not sure there has been a more dominant performance in this competition for a number of years. It was a pleasure to watch. Well played Charles and good luck in the Yorkshire Amateur Championship at Cleveland next week.
There were other strong performaces from George Walker and Seth Topham who secured top 10 finishes. Ethan Matthews, Alfie Dacey and Ben Staveley finished in the top 20! Well played boys - you’ve done yourselves and the East Riding Union proud!
