Jacko proves dangerous in Senior Championship thriller

Home player and Head Greenkeeper Dave Jackson rolled back the years to take his first East Riding Senior Championship around his home track.

Dave and the team at Beverley & East Riding had set the course up superbly given the recent drought, but no-one matched the par of 69 around the Westwood, playing very bouncy in a stiff breeze.

Dave's 71 just snuck him home ahead of some stellar and seasoned senior names. Rees Brown (below top) of Hornsea took the runners-up spot with a 72 on countback from Hessle's Andy Lockwood (below middle) who took the age 50-59 gross prize.

In the 60-69 bracket, past champion Andy Woodhead (below bottom) was again in the mix with a battling 74. David Stokes of Drax shot 80 to win the over 70s category. Nett prizes were awarded in the age group categories (see below)

Thanks to Ian Jeffrey and Dave Greenwood for running the desk so efficiently and to starters Andy Pittaway and past President Jonty Hall. A big thank you all the staff at Beverley for looking after the desk jockeys and competitors over the course of the day.

Beverley member and 2025 ERUGC President Dave Greenwood presented the prizes.
