Hornsea back with a bang in Junior League week two

Hornsea back with a bang in Junior League week two

After last week's surprise defeat at Hainsworth Park, defending champions Hornsea returned to winning ways with a 6-0 shutout against Burstwick. Alfred Andreson and Seth Topham both won 7&6, whilst Lilly Anderson completed the clean sweep with a 4&3 victory.

In the other Group B match, Skidby opened their account with a 4-2 win over early pacesetters Hainsworth. Erjan Kuzu beat Freddie Moore 1up, Tom Jimmeson levelled things with a 2up victory over James Williamson, before Louie Brookes sealed the tie for the Windmillers with a 2&1 win over Harry Mayoh.

Things are even tighter in Group A as neither of last week's winners could go back to back. Hull fell at Cave Castle by 4-2 with home wins from Tom Adcock and Huxley Sawyer proving the difference. Hull's Harry Earl won impressively on his debut to earn a vital consolation for the Kirk Ella boys.

Cottingham's new look side were held to a draw by Beverley. However, the 3-3 scoreline snuck Cottingham to the top of the table with only two points covering all four teams. Tom Anderson lost to Seth Fairburn 3&2 before Noa Ayala levelled things with a 2&1 victory over Will Bentley (they are pictured here on the 17th green). The teams could not be split as Oliver Spencer won the 18th to snatch a half against Oliver Wilson in a thriller.
