Bean bags the win for Burstwick - Junior League Gameweek 3

After being skittled 6-0 by Skidby last week, Burstwick got back to winning ways in Group B with an impressive 4-2 win away at Hull.

East Riding u18 team-mates Bobby Beasley and Ethan Matthews clashed in match one with not much between them on the front nine. Ethan pulled away with a string of lengthy putts to win 5&3. Hull's George Pepper squared the match with an assured 4&2 victory over James Williamson, leaving young Callum Akester (on debut for Hull in the Junior League) and Archie Bean (pictured putting at the 15th) to battle it out for the tie. Archie eventually prevailed 3&2 to put Burstwick up to second in the group.

Skidby Lakes won again and are now four points clear at the top. They saw off Beverley 4-2. Louie Brookes prevailed over Will Bentley on the last green, Zac Baughan-Withington lost 5&4 to Archie Russell before Lucas Wilson sealed the win with a solid 5&4 victory over Max Wilkinson.

In Group A Hainsworth Park surged to the head of affairs with a 6-0 win over previous leaders Brough. This was the closest tie of the evening despite the scoreline. Freddie Moore, Harry Mayoh and Tom Jimmeson all won their matches on the par 3 last.

Cave Castle are up to second with a 4-2 win over Cottingham Parks. William Bannister and Tom Adcock both won 3&2 for the 'Cavemen', but Tom Anderson salvaged some pride with his 4&3 win for Cottingham.

We take a six week break for exams now and return on 23 June. Good luck to all those sitting GCSEs or A levels over the next month or so.
