Lockwood wins East Riding Open Championship by Seven Shots

Paul Lockwood put in a fantastic performance at Ganton Golf Club on Thursday to secure a victory at the East Riding Open Championship by a whopping seven shots!

Sad Loss of Past President John Page

It is with regret that we announce the sad loss of John Page of Ganstead Park, who passed away on Friday 20th November.

As a Past President of the Union, among many other accolades within the golfing fraternity, John was a very popular man who had a wealth of friends, and was known for being very kind, with a great sense of humour.

He will be sorely missed by everyone in the Union.

HULL GOLF CLUB Thursday 10th September 2020

Unfortunately it was decided to cancel all ERUGC events this year due to the pandemic restrictions.

Playing and hospitality restrictions are now being gradually lifted and therefore we have been able to organise a Members Meeting under current rules, which will take place as an AmAm format on Thursday 10th September at Hull Golf Club. Registration of players & handicaps, and Payment of £17.50 (£70 per team) will be taken on the day in the Proshop. Specific details regarding hospitality arrangements in accordance with current 'rules' will be sent to confirmed team organisers nearer the date.

Below is a listing of confirmed and pre-allocated Tee-times using booking data from last season and changes confirmed since. Would you please email, call, or text our President, John Chambers, to confirm your entry as soon as possible.

Any tee-times not confirmed by Friday 14th August will be made available to those on the Reserve List. Please contact our President If you would like to add your team to the Reserve List.

The sad loss of Stretton Wright

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a pillar of our community. A professional, a colleague but most importantly a friend to many throughout the East Riding, Stretton Wright.

Stretton was gentleman and a fantastic ambassador of Hornsea Golf Club, as well as the Union and the game itself. He will be sorely missed by many.

Our thoughts go out to Yvonne, the family, and all that were close to him, at this difficult time.

Rest in peace our friend Stret.

Congratulations to Cameron Thomson for being elected as Yorkshire President 2020

Cameron Thomson of Beveley & East Riding Golf Club and Ganton Golf Club, has been elected as 2020 President for the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs, and we would like to congratulate him on behalf of the East Riding Union. Cameron is a Past President of the ERUGC and has been a rules official for both Unions for a number of years. We are sure he will do a fantastic job of representing golf in Yorkshire and wish him the very best for this honourable role.
